• How do I join the club?

All you have to do to be considered a club member is join our Discord! https://discord.gg/yz28JHA
You do not need to attend any club meetings or appear in person to be considered a club member. 
If you are interested in joining a competitive team, please head back to our homepage and scroll to the bottom.

• Does your club have gaming setups?

Our club has the Panther Gaming Lounge, which is located on the Lower Level of Muacker Union! The gaming lounge includes 12 total PC setups (6 Alienware PC setups). For console setups, we have 2 Nintendo Switches, a PS4, an Xbox One, a Wii, an Xbox 360, and controllers for said consoles. Our consoles have many casual party games, plus competitive fighting games! These are free for anyone to use, and you don't have to be a club member to enter the lounge.
Our Lounge has a tentative schedule, but usually follows these hours:
Monday-Thursday: 10am -10pm
Friday: 10am-5pm
Saturday & Sunday: TBD

• Does it cost anything to be on a competitive team?

There are no membership fees! Our club will pay for the online league entry fee with club funding. All you have to do is join a competitive roster.

• Am I required to play in person?

You are not required to play your matches in person. Due to Maucker Union hours, a majority of our matches take place from a home setup. Teams are allowed to play their matches using the setups in the Panther Gaming Lounge, but they must complete the match during hours at which Maucker Union is still open.
You cannot play a match in the lounge that goes past closing hours. 
If you don't have a setup, the club can loan you a setup!

• Are there any in-person tournaments/LAN events I can attend?

Panther Esports provides several LAN tournaments for select games. PES has currently hosted tournaments for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, and Free-For-All Mario Kart 8: Deluxe. These tournaments usually have an entry fee that gets added to the cash prize pool. You are not required to attend these tournaments!
We try our best to provide every team with a LAN Tournament. Our club will scout out potential local/regional tournaments that any competitive roster can attend. The club cannot cover travel and food fees, or entry fees, under certain circumstances. 

• Do our official matches get a broadcast/stream?

Panther Esports streams any match it can over on our Twitch channel!

 If you miss the broadcast, you can always watch the VOD uploaded to our YouTube channel.

Not every match will get streamed!
We have a volunteer broadcasting group supported by anyone who's interested! Anyone can produce the stream or commentate the matches!

• How do I join the broadcast team?

Join our Discord and get in contact with an executive member or moderator! They will provide you with the necessary roles and train you to be ready for your first broadcast! 
Working on the Panther Esports broadcast is a great way to begin your professional career as a commentator or stream production manager! 

• Do you provide scholarships for your competitive players?

We do not have the ability to provide scholarships as a student organization associated with the University of Northern Iowa.
